Twitch Affiliate calculator

Four requirements, all within 30 days, all at once. Most streamers clear three and stall on the fourth without knowing which. Enter your last-30-day numbers and see exactly where you stand.

The four requirements

Twitch Affiliate needs, all measured over the last 30 days: 50 followers, 500 minutes broadcast, on 7 unique days, with an average of 3 concurrent viewers. The first three are effort — stream enough, on enough days, and they arrive. The fourth is the one that stops people.

Why average viewers is the wall

Average concurrent viewers is calculated across every minute you stream. Stream for four hours to an empty room and one hour to five people, and your average is one. The requirement is not "reach 3 viewers" — it is "have 3 viewers, on average, across all 500 minutes". A new channel sits at the bottom of the category directory where nobody scrolls, so the room is empty, so the average is low, so the channel stays at the bottom. That loop is the whole reason live-viewer services exist: a session of held viewers lifts the channel into the part of the directory where real people click, and the average follows. The Affiliate guide goes through the maths in detail.

Reading the result

  • Followers short — stream on schedule and ask. Followers respond to consistency more than to anything else at this stage.
  • Minutes or days short — a calendar problem. The calculator uses your weekly pace to date it.
  • Average viewers short — the one where more hours make it worse if the room is empty. Fewer, fuller streams beat longer, emptier ones for this requirement specifically.

The 30-day window

All four have to be true at the same time inside a rolling 30 days. Hitting 50 followers in March and 500 minutes in May does not count. The estimated date the calculator gives is for the point where all four overlap — which is why, once three are met, the priority is the fourth, quickly, before the others roll out of the window.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my average viewers?

Creator Dashboard → Insights → Channel Analytics shows average viewers for any date range. Set it to the last 30 days.

Do minutes from a 24-hour stream count?

Yes, but a long empty stream drags the viewer average down. For Affiliate specifically, several shorter streams with people in them are better than one marathon.

Does raiding or hosting count as viewers?

Raided viewers count while they are watching. They also tend to leave, which is why the average matters more than the peak.

How does a live-viewer session change the average?

Held viewers count as concurrent viewers for the whole session, so a few streams with 25 held viewers move a sub-3 average past the line quickly. The channel also climbs the directory during those sessions.

Once I am invited, how long does it take?

The invitation usually appears within a day of all four being met, and onboarding takes a few minutes.
